Facebook campaign by Nanyang Poly (NYP) students to embrace ageing!

Disturbed by the recent objections from residents in some parts in Singapore to the building of facilities for seniors in their residential areas, some students in NYP have started a campaign to embrace ageing.

This movement aims to create awareness and promote social inclusion and acceptance of the elderly in Singapore. Supporters are asked to show their support by either changing their Facebook profile picture to a photo of an elderly person or post on their Facebook status the number of years and days they have before turning 65.

The reaons given by the residents to object building senior citizen facilities in their vicinity include, loss of community space and a possible drop in property prices.
