The South Asian Media Forum will be organized in May 2011. This is a unique opportunity for media institutions and professionals to come together to discuss the ways in which the media can be harnessed to enhance regional cooperation in South Asia.
The SAMF will be a one day conference bringing together leading South Asian media players, institutions and experts. The conference will consist of plenary sessions where these experts will present their views on the way in which the media can work together to strengthen regional integration and cooperation.
The papers presented at the conference will be published and distributed across the region. It is also expected that a list of recommendations from the outcome of the conference will be circulated to governments and media institutions across the region.
The Asian Media Information and Communication Centre (AMIC), Asia's premier media research, education and resource centre, will organize this conference in partnership with various media institutions across South Asia as well as international organizations.
A programme and full list of speakers and participants will be drawn up in consultation with partner institutions and South Asian media experts closer to the event
